Group Chief Financial Officer

– Chartered Accountant

We are a dynamic and rapidly growing Financial Services Group of Companies which was founded 16 years ago, comprising of three distinct businesses specialising in microfinance, life insurance and mobile money. Our mission is to deliver inclusive, innovative, and sustainable financial solutions that create shared value for customers, stakeholders, and communities with the intention to expand the business into other emerging markets.

As part of our growth journey, we are seeking a visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of the Group, supporting the drive to operational excellence, and ensuring sustainable growth in line with our ambitions.

Your Key Responsibilities will be to develop and lead the Group financial strategy, ensuring alignment with growth objectives in credit, insurance and mobile money. Oversee financial management, reporting, and compliance across all group companies. Implement robust risk management and governance frameworks, ensuring financial sustainability and regulatory compliance. Provide strategic insights to the CEO and the Board, supporting decision-making with financial analytics and scenario modelling. Lead the finance team, building capacity to support the Group’s expansion into new products and markets. Champion innovation in financial processes, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Qualifications & Experience

• A fully qualified Chartered Accountant, non-negotiable.
• Minimum of 10+ years senior financial leadership experience, and 5+ years’ experience in the position of Chief Financial Officer within financial services, banking, or Fintech.
• A Proven track record in strategic financial management, risk management, financial modelling, system migration, process implementation, governance and growth of businesses.
• Commercial acumen with experience in emerging markets outside Botswana.
• Strong track record & experience of credit, banking, insurance, and mobile money business models in emerging markets.
• Technologically astute with the ability to enhance business using technology.
• Demonstrated ability to work with executives, Boards, regulators, and investors.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Track record of building, developing, motivating, training and managing teams.
• Audit experience.
