Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Physiotherapist in preparing patients for assessment and treatment.
- Support patients with prescribed exercises and rehabilitation programmes under supervision.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, walking, and positioning where appropriate.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring equipment is clean, safe, and ready for use.
- Clean and disinfect therapy equipment according to infection prevention protocols.
- Monitor patients during therapy sessions and promptly report any concerns to the Physiotherapist.
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with appointment scheduling.
- Educate patients on basic home exercise programmes as directed by the Physiotherapist.
- Ensure patient comfort, dignity, confidentiality, and safety at all times.
- Assist with stock control and ordering of clinical supplies.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Physiotherapist or Practice Manager.
Requirements
- Certificate in Healthcare Assistance, Nursing Assistant, Caregiving, or a related healthcare qualification.
- Previous experience in physiotherapy, rehabilitation, a hospital, or a clinical setting will be an added advantage.
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification is desirable.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit and able to assist patients with mobility.
- Compassionate, patient-centred, and professional.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Basic computer literacy.
