HELPER/CARETAKER

WE ARE HIRING:

We are seeking a HELPER/CARETAKER to look after our elderly mother. The applicant should have a nursing qualification and 5 years of experience in a comparable position. There should be a woman over the age of 35 who speaks Punjabi. To be available to start any time.

Job Summary

The helper/caretaker is responsible for providing essential assistance and support to an individual or family in need. This may include tasks such as personal care, household management, transportation, and companionship. The helper/caretaker works closely with the client to ensure their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

 Duties and Responsibilities

– Provide personal care assistance, such as help with bathing, dressing, grooming, and using the restroom
– Prepare and serve meals, including special dietary requirements
– Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, light cleaning, and organizing
– Run errands and provide transportation to appointments, shopping, and other outings
– Engage the client in social activities, hobbies, and conversation to promote well-being
– Assist with medication reminders and management, as directed
– Communicate regularly with the client, their family, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
– Maintain detailed records and documentation of the client’s condition and services provided
– Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and policies regarding the care and safety of the client

Qualifications

– High school diploma or equivalent
– Experience in providing personal care, home health, or caregiver services
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
– Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
– Compassionate, patient, and adaptable personality
– Completion of any required training or certifications, as specified by the employer
