1. OVERALL PURPOSE

The Lecturer will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment in the field of health sciences and Counselling. This role involves preparing
lesson plans, delivering lectures, supervising student projects, conducting assessments, and ensuring compliance with Botswana Qualifications Authority (BQA) standards. The
Lecturer will also participate in curriculum design, student mentorship, research, and institutional development, while promoting academic excellence and professional ethics.

1. EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor of Nursing Science (mandatory).
• Master’s degree in counseling or psychology or nursing.
• BQA Assessor and Moderator certification (mandatory).

1. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in teaching and/or professional practice in Nursing, Counseling, or Psychology.
• Strong knowledge of BQA requirements, quality assurance, and competency-based education.
• Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and assessment design.
• Excellent teaching, facilitation, and mentorship skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with capacity to engage diverse learners.
• Ability to develop learning materials, conduct assessments, and moderate according to BQA standards.
• Research, report writing, and academic supervision skills will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrated professionalism, ethics, and commitment to continuous learning.

• Deliver engaging and effective lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions.
• Prepare teaching materials, lesson plans, and course outlines in alignment with BQA standards.
