LECTURER IN ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SAMPLING & ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH RISK ASSESSMENT
VACANCY NO: FHS/ SoPH 2/2019
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Environmental and Occupational Health; (ii) preference will be given to candidates with at least two (2) years of teaching/industrial experience in Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Risk Assessment and Environmental Health Sampling Techniques; (iii) have expertise in spectrometric techniques for analysis of pesticides, heavy metals and must be able to operate different analytical equipment; (iv) take an active part in the supervision and assessment of undergraduate and graduate students research projects; (v) serve in committees within the University and external professional organizations.
Requirements: Applicants should have; (i) at least a Master’s Degree in Analytical Chemistry; (ii) a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry or Biology with at least a 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent. Applicants should also show evidence of engagement in research and service. A relevant PhD, teaching experience at a University or comparable institution and demonstration of effective academic leadership will be added advantages.
