Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the identification, design, development, review, production and delivery of distance learning programmes and courses through online and other multi-media forms.
• Participate in the development of instructional materials.
• Facilitate teaching, marking and assessment of learner performance to enable progression.
• Participate in periodic reviews aimed at improving and enhancing teaching methods.
• Carry out part-time staff training and support.
• Undertake research and publication, including presentation of papers at conferences and colloquia.
• Provide services to the University through participation in its committees and related relevant units.
• Drive the programme’s outreach strategy through services provided to professional bodies and the community.
• Liaise with relevant partners for the promotion of the profession and the School at large.
• Undertake any other relevant related duties as required by the University from time to time.

Requirements

• At least a Master’s Degree in one of the following: Special Education, Special & Inclusive Education, Special Needs Education, Special Needs & Development, Inclusive Education.
• A minimum of 2 years work experience in a teacher training institution, in which responsibilities have included teaching and supervision of undergraduate and/or graduate students.
• Demonstrable evidence of familiarity with use of electronic resources in the delivery of teaching and learning.
• Demonstrable evidence of conducting independent academic research.
• Registration with BQA as Assessor and/or Moderator.
• A PhD in Special and Inclusive Education or related field.
