Dulini is looking for a confident, hands-on Lodge Manager (Back of House) to manage our lodge/camp at Dulini Daunara in Botswana. This role has a primary focus on back of house facilities and maintenance, ensuring the highest operational, service and brand standards are maintained while delivering an exceptional luxury safari experience.

As Lodge Manager (Back of House), you will be responsible for the maintenance and efficient management of all facilities, equipment, vehicles and infrastructure, while supporting the Lodge Manager (Front of House) to ensure every guest enjoys an exceptional stay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain all lodge facilities, equipment, vehicles and infrastructure to the highest standards
  • Implement and monitor preventative maintenance programmes across camp and concession
  • Oversee generator plants, borehole pumps, sewage plant, water and energy systems
  • Manage workshop, tools and maintenance records
  • Maintain boats, firefighting equipment, road network and airstrips
  • Ensure correct waste management and pest control procedures
  • Manage the loading/offloading of trucks and the safe handling of fuel
  • Coordinate with operational management to minimise guest impact during maintenance
  • Also confident to step into Front of House responsibilities when required

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Lodge Manager or in a similar role in a luxury safari lodge environment
  • Strong practical and technical background in facilities and maintenance management
  • Sound knowledge of stock control principles, F&B and service delivery
  • Strong administrative, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven staff management and team motivation abilities
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions
  • Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Both Lodge Managers at Dulini Daunara are required to be strong across both back of house and front of house operations so that either can step in for the other at any time.
