MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR – Redpath

Redpath is the world’s premier full-service underground mining contractor. Redpath Botswana are excited to be looking for one (1) Maintenance Coordinator for the Jwaneng Underground Mining Development Project.

Basic function of the position:

The role of the Maintenance Coordinator is to be responsible for leading the maintenance crew and ensure all mobile and fixed mechanical equipment on site is maintained to the approved safety standards and mechanical availability/reliability is optimised. Progress and continually advising on the status of the project.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Materials are ordered correctly in required quantities, on time and to proper locations for delivery; and

• Maintain records of all maintenance (both breakdown and servicing) done on all equipment to allow quick reference for Planners and Supervisors.

• Carry out maintenance scheduling and planning.

• Maintain acceptable levels of spare parts to prevent major downtime;

• Repairs to equipment efficiently and consistent with the required standard of work;

• Liaise with the electrical supervisor on all electrical assistance required with machinery services, etc.;

• Maintain a stable maintenance workforce and act as the first point of grievance (in the absence of the Maintenance Superintendent) for the maintenance crew.

Minimum qualifications and experience required for this position:

• Mechanical Trade qualification or tertiary qualification in Engineering.

• Minimum 10 Years’ experience with Underground Mining fleet and large maintenance teams.

• Capable of operating all mobile equipment for maintenance purposes;

• Experience leading continuous improvement and environment of innovation.

• Strong computer skills including intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Heavy mobile equipment experience.

• Drivers License, First Aid & CPR
