WE ARE HIRING UNDERGROUND MINING MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Redpath is the world’s premier full-service underground mining contractor. Redpath Botswana are excited to be looking for a (1) Maintenance Manager for the Jwaneng Underground Mining Development Project.

The position:

The role as a Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating a maintenance team to ensure all mobile and fixed equipment on site is planned and maintained to the approved safety and standards. Responsibilities can include project planning and managing, ensuring health and safety systems are complied with, tracking projects deliverables, and providing leadership and direction to the maintenance team.

Open to citizens of Botswana only.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Maintain stable maintenance of workforce and act as a first point of contact for maintenance employees.
• Ensure materials are ordered correctly in required quantities, on time and delivered to proper locations.
• Ensure that the Site Purchasing Procedure are followed for all ordering and receiving.
• Provide project manager and mining superintendent updates on state of equipment on site.
• Maintain records of all maintenance done on all equipment.
• Assist with special projects both on the surface and underground, and servicing of equipment as per service schedules.
• Assist preparation of the maintenance budget regularly monitor/ control maintenance expenditure.

Minimum qualifications and experience required for this position:

• Mechanical Trade Certificate.
• Driver’s License, First Aid & CPR.
• Minimum 10 Years’ experience managing Underground Mining Equipment and large maintenance teams.
• Experience maintaining Sandvik range of underground equipment.
• In-depth and extensive knowledge and application of safe and reliable mechanical maintenance practices to maximise equipment availability and productivity.
• Lead continuous improvement and encourage an environment of innovation.
