MANAGER, PROCUREMENT OVERSIGHT – National Agricultural Research and Development Institute (NARDI)

The National Agricultural Research and Development Institute (NARDI) is a Botswana government – funded research and development institute incorporated in 2015 as a company limited by guarantee. The Institute was established to conduct high quality needs-based research and development across the agricultural value chain for the benefit of the economy, the agricultural industry, government and contribute to the body of knowledge in science and agricultural research. NARDI has a country wide decentralised presence through a network of Research and Innovation Centres, Field Stations and Experimental Sites. NARDI wishes to recruit highly skilled individuals with a passion for excellence and ability to drive the transformation of the Institute into a high-performance research and development organisation. 1. MANAGER, PROCUREMENT OVERSIGHT

Main purpose of the Job:

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Manager, Procurement Oversight will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Public Procurement Act and related policies and procedures to help drive the desired behavior across procurement processes; evaluates and control risks associated with the procurement of goods and services and creation of effective monitoring tools to ensure that the Accounting Officer is advised accordingly in order for the Institute to get value for its expenditure.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Procurement Management, Supply Chain Management or a closely related discipline. Full membership to a recognised professional body is required.

Experience: At least ten (10) years’ post qualification experience in a Procurement or Procurement Oversight environment, three (3) of which must have been at a Management Level.

Competencies: Understanding of public procurement laws and regulatory frameworks, excellent negotiation and communication skills, good interpersonal skills, team leadership, attention to detail and strong data analytical skills.
