MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER – Botswana National Sport Commission

The Botswana National Sport Commission, a statutory body established to promote sport in Botswana and participation of sport outside the country invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the positions Marketing & Communications Manager
based in Gaborone.

1. MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
1.1. Reporting directly to the Director Business Development & Property Management Services the incumbent will be responsible for developing and providing a wide range of marketing and communications management activities and day to day administration services; advice and assist functional departments to facilitate the development of a communication strategy and facilitate the implementation of a broad range of public relations activities, organisational positioning, thereby contribute to the achievement of the Commission’s strategic and operational objectives.

1.2. Key tasks and responsibilities
1.2.1. Existence of policies, practices and procedures in line with organisational strategies and objectives.
1.2.2. Development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies.
1.2.3. Quality delivery of Marketing and Communication services; e.g, information systems, advertising management, communication services (newsletter, website, annual reports etc).
1.2.4. Effective and efficient stakeholder management
1.2.5. Brand management.
1.2.6. Public Relations management

1.3. Qualifications and Experience
1.3.1. A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Mass Communications or related area. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
1.3.2. At least seven years post qualification experience in diverse marketing and communications practices of which two should have been at a supervisory level, with detailed hands on experience in strategic planning, communications planning, marketing and media relations.
