VACANCY

We are looking for qualified and experienced individual for the following position and previous working experience in a mine related environment is a prerequisite.

Mechanical Engineer/Projects Manager

Requirements of an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a degree and more than 10 years’ experience spend in the mining industry and a minimum of 5-year experience as a Projects Manager. The individual must have an experience with in-depth knowledge of Structural Steel Works, Fabrication of Vibrating Screens, Conveyor Equipment & Accessories, Storage Pressure Vessels & Silos and Corrosion and Wear Protection.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures, objectives and regulations and the commitment to achieving Zero Harm through safe behaviours
• Prepare and complete action plans, coordinate all internal resources and third parties for the flawless execution of projects and ensure resource availability and allocation
• Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
• Resolve problems, complete audits, identify trends, determines system improvements and implement change.
• Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions and ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget frames
• Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
• Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
• Develop a detailed project plan and work plan to monitor and track progress
• Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques and measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques as well.

Requirements / Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years spent in mining industry, with traceable references
• Minimum 5 years spent in industry as a Projects Manager/or equivalent with traceable references
• Qualified Mechanical Engineer from a recognised University
• Certified qualification certificates
• MS Office basics
• Experience of working in a mining environment will be an added advantage
• Valid Passport
• Ability to work in and across the borders of Botswana
