JOB VACANCY – MEDICAL WASTE FACILITY OPERATOR (x3)

Duration: 3 Years – Fixed Term Contract

Skip Hire, one of the country’s leading refuse companies seeks the services of a highly skilled and competent person for the position above.

Responsibilities

Medical Waste Facility Operator responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Operate and monitor the incinerator in compliance with environmental and health regulations
• Ensure safe handling, loading, and incineration of hazardous medical waste
• Maintain accurate logs of waste quantities, incineration cycles, and emissions
• Conduct routine maintenance and report faults or malfunctions
• Follow strict safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE
• Assist in the disposal of ash and residue according to regulatory standards
• Interaction with walk-in clients in a professional manner.

Requirements and skills

• At least three years’ relevant professional experience
• Diploma in Environmental health sciences & or Civil Engineering from an accredited tertiary institution.
• IT skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Class B drivers’ license or better.
• Prior experience in waste management or incinerator operations is an advantage
• Basic understanding of environmental health and safety standards
• Physically fit and able to work in high-temperature environments
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills
