METALLURGIST –  MMG-KHOEMACAU COPPER MINING

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Metallurgist is responsible for supporting the metallurgical operations, process control, and optimization.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

• Metallurgical testing, sampling, and analysis.

• Preparing and submitting daily, weekly, and monthly metallurgical accounting reports.

• Developing, coordinating and supporting the metallurgical and assay information management systems.

• Monitoring and optimizing the performance of reagents and plant processes.

• Compiling, analysing and interpreting process, assay and plant performance data.

• Scheduling audits of the process plant and process control systems.

• Developing and analysing key metallurgical performance indicators and implementing corrective measures when necessary.

• Ensuring quality assurance and control for crushing, milling and flotation metallurgy parameters to meet targeted recovery rates.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Minerals Processing or equivalent.

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

• Experience in a mechanized underground mine is an added advantage.

• Advanced computer skills in metallurgical process information management and metallurgical process control systems.
