The positions are based at the Mine Site located between Maun and Sehithwa in Ngamiland. *2. MINING SUPERINTENDENT

*BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Mining Superintendent will lead and manage the execution of mining-related projects—including infrastructure development, process upgrades, and capital expansion—ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in full compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. This role bridges strategic planning and operational execution, enabling long-term value creation and sustainable mining practices.

*CORE DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:

• Overseeing and coordinating mining project activities to ensure efficient execution.
• Developing and implementing operational plans aligned with production and strategic goals.
• Interpreting geological data and operational reports to guide project decisions.
• Ensuring accurate, timely reporting in line with legal and operational requirements.
• Ensuring adherence to mining legislation, environmental regulations, and internal governance.
• Upholding company policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
• Maintaining documentation and reporting standards for audits and site reviews.
• Identifying, evaluating, and controlling project-related risks and hazards.
• Maintaining a dynamic risk register and implementing contingency plans.
• Compiling and delivering accurate, timely reports on project progress, safety metrics, budget status, and resource utilization to support decision-making and stakeholder communication.
• Collecting, validating, and analysing operational, geological, financial, and SHEQ data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintaining and virtually documenting and ensuring compliance with internal governance and external regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Utilizing project management systems and tools to track progress, milestones, manage data integrity, and integrate information across departments.
• Leveraging data insights to drive continuous improvement, enhancing project performance, and supporting strategic planning initiatives.
• Investigating incidents and implementing improvement actions.
• Collaborating with internal departments to optimize resource allocation.
• Engaging with external stakeholders including contractors, vendors, and regulators.
• Facilitating communication and coordination across operational units.
• Leading and mentoring a multidisciplinary project team to maintain high productivity.
• Ensuring employees are trained, competent, and aligned with project goals.
• Supporting effective employee relations and workplace discipline.
• Promoting adherence to training plans and attendance standards.
• Enforcing safety protocols and ensuring full compliance with SHEQ standards.
• Conducting safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
• Promoting safety awareness and establishing departmental safety targets.
• Identifying and mitigating risks and hazards in line with SHE policies and Safety Work Management Standards.
• Implementing corrective actions and analysing safety data trends to enhance worker safety.

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

*Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, Geology, or a related field (Mechanical or Civil Engineering may be accepted for infrastructure-heavy projects).
• Project Management Certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is highly recommended for structured project delivery.
• Leadership or Supervisory Development Programmes endorsed by MQA are advantageous.

*Minimum Experience and Knowledge:

• Minimum 10 years in mining operations, with at least 5 years in project management or supervisory roles within large-scale mining environments.
• Proven track record of delivering mining infrastructure or capital projects on time and within budget, including shaft sinking, plant upgrades, or pit development.
• Strong exposure to SHEQ compliance and risk management, with experience leading safety audits and incident investigations.
• Hands-on experience with project planning tools and systems such as MS Project, SAP, or Primavera, and familiarity with geological and production data.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage contractors, with effective stakeholder engagement across departments and external partners.
• Project Management Expertise – Skilled in planning, executing, and delivering mining infrastructure and operational projects on time and within budget.
• Team & Stakeholder Coordination – Effective in leading multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with internal departments, contractors, and external stakeholders
• Botswana Blasting Licence qualification
