NETWORK FIELD TECHNICIAN

VACANCY 

NETWORK FIELD TECHNICIAN- KASANE (ISP)

A leading Internet Service Provider in Botswana looking for a suitably and self-driven individual to apply for the above titled vacancy.

Key Duties:

• Perform onsite installation, configuration, and maintenance of a diverse range of network equipment, including routers, switches, wireless, and Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) systems.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain FTTH and Wireless ISP (WISP) technologies such as Ubiquiti, Mikrotik, OLTs, ONTs, and radio systems.
• Diagnose and resolve network outages and performance issues to restore service promptly.
• Test and certify new network links and fiber connections using specialized equipment.
• Provide excellent technical support and customer service directly at client locations.
• Document all work performed, including configurations, diagrams, and resolutions in our ticketing system.
• Collaborate with the Network Operations Center (NOC) to escalate and resolve complex issues.

Requirements:

• Must hold a minimum of a HCIA (Huawei) or CCNA (Cisco) certification
• A minimum of 2 years of experience

• Hands-on experience with network cabling (copper, Fiber optic termination & testing), and a strong understanding of FTTH and WISP technologies such as Ubiquiti, Microtek, OLTs, ONTs, and radio systems.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

The candidate must demonstrate the following Capabilities:
• Proven practical troubleshooting skills and a logical approach to diagnosing and resolving network issues.
• Strong understanding of IP networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, and subnetting.
• The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain a strong commitment to safety protocols.
