Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of nursing and operational activities across the hospital at night
- Allocate staff, monitor workloads and ensure safe staffing levels
- Support and supervise clinical care and respond to emergencies and deteriorating patients
- Manage incidents, complaints and escalations and inform management as required
- Coordinate admissions, transfers, discharges and bed/recovery management overnight
- Ensure adherence to policies, infection control and safety standards
- Compile a night report and hand over to day management
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution.
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana with a valid practising certificate.
- Minimum of 4 years’ post-registration nursing experience
- Prior supervisory or charge-nurse experience
- Post-basic qualification in a clinical area or nursing management (desirable)
- Experience across multiple clinical areas (desirable)
