Requirements

  • A qualification in Ophthalmic / Vision Sciences or related fields, (NQF Level 6 and above).
  • Fellowship with a related Ophthalmic / Vision Science Body
  • In depth knowledge and certification in ophthalmic equipment, devices and application specialist of brands such Zeiss, Alcon, Frey, Bausch and Lomb.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in senior management of ophthalmology clinics, theatres, and Day Ambulatory Centers.
  • Experience in Ophthalmic Outreach programs, Research and Development initiatives.
  • Experience in specialized ophthalmic projects such as handling of donor tissue for transplants, low vision rehabilitation.
  • Membership or affiliation with international related ophthalmology / optometric societies.
  • An MBA track and Practice Management qualifications are a plus.
