Foods Botswana is in search of a high-calibre, self-motivated candidate to fill the position of PRODUCTION MANAGER in Serowe.
PRODUCTION MANAGER POSITION

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate should have;
•A minimum qualification of Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Mechanical) /Diploma in Production and Operations Management or equivalent
•At minimum post qualification experience of 10 years in the Food Industry. Experience in setting up and running a manufacturing plant is a prerequisite.
•General work experience in a large maintenance environment in his/her specific field

JOB SPECIFICATION

•Plans production based on agreed targets and prepared duty roaster, so that efficient production flow is achieved.
•Monitors and records all raw materials received and used, noting all which are not compliant with specifications, to be able to effect corrective action.
•Checks types of grains received and directs that they be stored in the correct storage spaces.
•Ensures the efficient cleaning and conditioning of raw materials in preparation for production to meet production specifications and standards.
•Establishes the quality settings on machinery in preparation for production, monitors to check and control during the production process, such that settings do not damage products during the production process.
•Prepares a maintenance schedule to ensure that production plans accommodate planned maintenance.
•Verifies stock levels, follows up on items to ensure an ongoing supply of raw materials, packaging stocks, sundries, and consumable stocks.
•Carriesoutinspectionstoensurethathighstandardsofhousekeepingandsafetypracticesare maintained. Guides and directs staff on an acceptable standard of housekeeping and safety, to minimize incidents which may result in damage to property and /or injury to persons.
•Prepares and presents production reports at established intervals to facilitate follow-up and corrective action.
•Working in a small team environment closely with electrical, systems and launch engineers to develop optimal solutions to complex problems.
•Develop assembly procedures, test plans and fabrication documentation.
•Participating in team discussions involving vehicle arrangementand design for ongoingand future projects.
•Organizes production team meetings on a regular basis, to facilitate follow-up of issues raised and provide feedback to staff.
•Liaises with other functional heads and proactively raises suggestions to contribute to the achievement of a coordinated effort by management.
•Provides on-the-job training of staff and actively contributes to the development of a capable human resources pool, therefore facilitating attainment of organization performance requirements.
•Prepares and produces production schedules, consults, communicates, and makes resources available to ensure an effective and efficient production process.
