REGISTERED/GENERAL NURSE – St Joseph’s (Kgale) Clinic under the Diocese of Gaborone

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Botswana candidates for a full time position for Registered/ General Nurse tenable at St Joseph’s (Kgale) Clinic under the Diocese of Gaborone. This position is supported by Ministry of Health (Department of Health Policy Research & Development).

BENEFITS:

Salary: C4/3 (P98 352 – P115 260 per annum). Allowances:

1. 30% of basic salary as nurse’s overtime,
2. Housing allowance P309.00 per month),
3. Uniform allowance,
4. Contributory Pension scheme (Employer pays 15% and employee pays 5%)

LEAVE: 25 working Days Per Annum

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Diploma or Degree in General Nursing,
• At least 2 years’ minimum relevant work experience

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide general optimal outpatient health care services to the general population at St Joseph’s Mission Clinic and its environment.

CORE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assessment and record of vital signs
• General consultation of patients
• Referral of patients for specialized care
• Surgical toilet of wounds/ dressings
• Prescription and administration of medications
• Assist patients on activities of daily living
• Drawing and execution of Nursing Care Plans,
• Supervision of junior staff members including

students on clinical practicums
