REGISTERED NURSE – CATH LAB / CTVS – Sidilega Private Hospital

You must hold a valid nursing diploma or degree from a recognized institution such as the University of Botswana or Boitekanelo College, plus current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana. Specialized cardiac or critical care certification, such as ACLS or a post-basic diploma in critical care nursing, is highly preferred for Cath Lab and CTVS roles.

You will assist with cardiac catheterization procedures, monitor patients pre- and post-operatively, administer medications, and manage hemodynamic monitoring. The role also involves patient education, equipment preparation, and close collaboration with cardiologists and cardiac surgeons in a fast-paced environment.

Private hospitals in Botswana generally maintain a professional, hierarchical structure with clear reporting lines to unit managers and matrons. Punctuality, respect for senior staff, and adherence to protocols are strongly valued, though private facilities often offer more resources and autonomy compared to public sector settings.

With experience, you can advance to senior nurse or unit manager positions, pursue specialized training in interventional cardiology or perfusion technology, or transition into education or clinical specialist roles. Some nurses also move into hospital administration or pursue further degrees to become nurse practitioners.
