Restaurant Cook

• have a sound knowledge of cooking

Working with the head chef to:

• Monitor food stock and place orders
• Check freshness of food, Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
• oversee hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen, ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
• prep, cook and assemble dishes and make sure that they go out on time
• be in charge of a specific section of the kitchen such as sauces, pastry
• assist the chef or head chef in developing menus
• oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen, order food and undertake the kitchen inventory.
• prepare and plate dishes and have an input into menu design.
• create a vision for the cuisine, lightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook
• Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta makers)
• Advanced knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques
• work as a team
