The Senior Professional: Health Promotion and Education is responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of health education and promotion initiatives aimed at improving the overall health and well-being of students. The successful candidate will develop educational programmes, conduct workshops and collaborate with various stakeholders to promote healthy behaviours and lifestyles within the university community.

Key Responsibilities
- a) Design and develop comprehensive health promotion and education programmes.
- b) Implement initiatives that address key health issues affecting students throughout the academic year.
- c) Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to integrate health education into university activities.
- d) Utilize evidence-based practices to ensure the effectiveness of health promotion initiatives.
- e) Utilize various media and communication channels to disseminate health information.
- f) Evaluate the impact of health campaigns and make improvements as needed.
- g) Train peer educators and student leaders to promote health education.
- h) Engage students in health promotion activities and events.
- i) Plan and conduct workshops, seminars, and training sessions on health related topics.
- j) Develop educational materials and resources for students.
- k) Provide individual and group consultations on health and wellness topics.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or relevant field is required.
- A Master’s degree in a relevant area will be an added advantage.
- Work Experience: A minimum of six (4) years’ experience, three (3) of which should have been at the officer level. Higher education experience will be an added advantage.
- Professional registration: Registration and being in good standing (or registrable) with a recognised professional body is preferred.

- a) Proven track record of developing and implementing health education programmes.
- b) Strong organizational and project management skills.
- c) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- d) Experience with research and program evaluation.
