Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of and implement departmental, sectional and unit level strategies, policies, plans and procedures;
- Identify target audiences and develop appropriate messaging to attract new students, sponsors/ donors, alumni members, and other stakeholders;
- Conduct market research to understand the target audiences’ preferences, perceptions and needs and make recommendations;
- Develop high-quality marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, newsletters, and digital content;
- Ensure consistency in messaging and adherence to the university’s brand guidelines;
- Manage the editorial calendar and coordinate content contributions from various departments;
- Utilize various media sharing platforms to share marketing content;
- Assess the efficacy of marketing activities and analyze marketing performance measures and make data-driven adjustments and/ or recommendations;
- Plan, organize, and coordinate University events, including academic conferences, workshops, cultural events, orientation programmes, alumni reunions, and campus celebrations;
- Plan and lead execution of major University events, including recruitment and enrolment, academic conferences, public lectures, and community outreach programmes;
- Manage event logistics, including venue setup, catering, and audiovisual requirements;
- Develop promotional materials and content for event marketing;
- Negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of services;
- Participate in the identification and mitigation of operational risks;
- Comply with relevant regulations and legislation;
- Respond to customer/ stakeholder queries and inquiries related to area of expertise;
- Collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders as needed to effectively deliver duties as defined;
- Actively engage with the professional community to support and develop expertise in an area of profession;
- Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor in line with the role.
Requirements
- Applicants are required to have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales or other related field is required;
- A Masters’ degree will be an added advantage ;
- Be registered or eligible to registration as a member of a recognised professional body.
- A minimum of four (4) years of work experience, three (3) of which should have been at professional/officer level.
- Higher education experience will be an added advantage.
- Ability to develop and implement long-term marketing strategies;
- Strong ability to plan and execute successful events;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines;
- Understanding of digital marketing strategies and tools;
- Strong leadership skills to guide and inspire the marketing and events team.
