PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide legal advice to the Divisional Commander, draft contracts, draft instructions and carry out such other duties as may be assigned.

PRINCIPAL OUTCOMES OF THE JOB

• Interpretation of laws, Orders, etc
• Effective legal advice
• Clear instructions

DUTIES

• Coordinates legal services at Divisional Command.
• Advises the Divisional Commander on legal matters
• Initiate legal training
• Initiates draft reviews in disciplinary cases
• Draft contracts
• Draft affidavits, instructions
• Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management
In case of serving public officers; date of first appointment, present position, scale and date of appointment thereto
– Certified true copies of Certificates and Transcripts (Academic and Professional)
– At least two (2) related References of not more than six
(6) months
– Certified true copy of National Identity Card (Omang)
– Certified copies of Proof of Admission to Practice in Courts of Law in Botswana

TRAINING

• Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Induction Programme of six (6) weeks.
PROBATION PERIOD
• To serve six (6) months’ probation period.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• Permanent and pensionable.
• Transferrable between Divisions

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
*At least eight (8) years relevant work experience and must have been served at D2 Salary Scale.
