Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and sign off pre task risk assessment of the entire teams during their shift
- Authorize blasting operations and ensure exclusion zones are secured
- Enforce zero tolerance to safety violations
- Emergency response coordinator
- Complete and submit daily statutory reports to the mining manager
- Execute the shift production plan
- Manage interfaces between mining, drilling, geology, maintenance teams
- Oversee all crew on shift
- Address performance, conduct, or safety issues on shift
- Conduct shift change meetings to ensure seamless handover and takeover
- Mentor and develop other Junior Miners for succession planning
- Review and approve timesheets for crews on shift
Requirements
- Diploma in Mining Engineering
- 3 Years’ experience in an underground mine
- Underground Blasting License
- Strong understanding of geotechnical stability
- Highest level of safety consciousness
- Able write reports in English
