- The primary objective is to optimize the mechanical availability, reliability, and lifecycle of a massive fleet of heavy underground mining equipment, directly impacting the mine’s ability to produce.
- The superintendent will develop and enforce rigorous preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, manage complex OEM warranty claims, and oversee major component rebuilds and replacement strategies.
- Ensuring total compliance with the MQWM Act regarding machinery safety regulations and leading continuous improvement initiatives in the workshop are fundamental duties.
Requirements
- This senior engineering role requires a Mechanical or Elecrical Trade Certificate and a Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering will be preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar leadership role must be demonstrated.
- The candidate must possess a minimum of 10 years of extensive experience managing the maintenance of heavy trackless mobile machinery within a demanding underground environment, showcasing high-level proficiency with CMMS software and strong financial budgeting acumen.
- Specific preference will be given to candidates that have experience with Sandvik, Caterpillar and Fermel equipment.
