ABOUT THE TRUST

Bathoen Dam Nature Management Trust is a registered Community-based Organisation (CBO) c.

We are seeking a highly self-driven and ethically grounded individual to lead the Trust’s programmes.
Reports to: Board of Trustees
Contract Type: 5 years (renewable based on performance and funding)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Unlock business opportunities within the trust’s value chain as well as drive commercial growth and sustainability.
Spearhead resource mobilisation and project implementation to ensure financial sustainability and business growth.
– Oversee the planning, execution and monitoring of the Trust’s conservation, eco-tourism and community development projects.
– Ensure compliance with the CBNRM Act.
– Promote inclusive participation of community members in Trust activities.
– Maintain regular liaison with the Technical Advisory Committee, District institutions, donors, private sector partners and regulatory bodies.
– Champion environmental education.
– Ensure prudent asset management.
– Any other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the Board.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

– Degree or Diploma in any of the following:
– Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Economics, Community Development, or a related field.
– At least 3 years in a managerial position, preferably within a CBO, NGO, or development project context.
– Proven strong business acumen.
– Demonstrated understanding of CBNRM principles.
– Proficient in financial and project management.
– Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
– Fluency in Setswana and English (written and spoken).
– High integrity and commitment to community-driven development and transparent governance.
