Management Couple – BWP 7500.00 Neg each

Overview

My Client a  3,500ha Private Game Reserve in the Tuli Block Botswana  22 Sleeper seeks a couple to manage all aspects of the operation.

Remuneration Structure:

• BWP 7500.00 Neg – each depending on experience
• Subsidized medical aid
• Semi-furnished housing
• water, electricity
• Gratuities

• Free franchise to sell Food+Beverage service for own account (The Food & Beverage franchise averages BWP 5000 per month currently)
• 24 paid leave days per annum; 4 paid rest days per month
• Allocation of bed nights for family visits.

Joint responsibilities include:

Administration, Hospitality & Management:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

• Proficiency in English
• Current certification in first aid and weapons handling
• Quotations, reservations, booking register, cash sales, invoices, check-in, check-out, room checks, etc.
• Guest interaction, hosting, guiding on game drives and bush walks
• Liaison with government departments and compliance with law, including renewal of licences, permits and submission of prescribed returns
• Marketing and communications
• Interior décor and layout of guest lounge and lodge buildings gardens
• Stock control of workshop and lodge inventories and of cleaning supplies, amenities, linens and laundry room

• Catering for guests.  Own kitchen equipment and previous F+B experience required
• Financial management (petty cash, bureau de change, sales, wages, etc.)
• Management of and day to day interaction with housekeeping and agricultural staff: recruitment, staff rosters, uniforms, leave records and planning
• Regular communication with shareholders regarding veld condition, staff, projects, environmental data, tourism and development recommendations

–Veld and Game Management:

• All environmental monitoring and management including VCAs, rainfall records, animal census, capture and relocation, etc
• Interaction with Department of Wildlife for compliance with law
• Systematic anti-poaching/security exercises

• Interaction with neighbours and the local community
• Culling and hunting operations (PH license not required, but Botswana-registered PH an added advantage)
• Small scale butchery operation and management – fresh and processed/dried meat production and sales
• Small scale vegetable and poultry farming
• Management of supplemental feed program (where necessary), waterholes and water reticulation
• Veld rehabilitation and soil erosion control

–   Maintenance:

• Building exteriors and interiors: roofs, floors, walls, furniture, tiling, septic tanks, painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical
• Tractor, vehicles, workshop, tools, boreholes, pumps (solar & mains) and implements

• Fences, fence lines, roads, waterholes, water reticulation
• Monitoring of satellite bandwidth and wi-fi

NB: Applicants should have traceable references, a proven record of integrity and the ability to work hard and honestly without supervision.   Must be willing to relocate to the Tuli Block and have minimum 5 years’ related experience, valid driver’s licences and passports.  Expatriates will be considered subject to the granting of work and resident permits.
