Introduction

Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd is a Soda Ash and Salt producing Company situated at Sua Pan in Botswana, approximately 180 km by tarred road northwest of Francistown. The Company employs over 500 employees of which close to 300 are unionised. Employees and their families live in Sowa Town, about 20 km from the plant site. The town boasts of recreational facilities, which include restaurant, tennis, squash, swimming and golf. There is also an excellent English medium pre primary, primary and secondary school as well as public primary and junior secondary schools.

Specification

1. To identify and coordinate delivery of business improvement initiatives across the business through employing process improvement methodologies and application of innovative thinking
2. To provide and coordinate efficiency and continuous improvement projects as well as technical investigations aimed at ensuring optimal operation of the plant, in a cost-effective manner.
3. To lead the Process Engineering team in providing support for plant operations and projects
4. To provide technical support to internal and external customers.

Requirements

Education:
Degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Mineral Processing or equivalent

Experience:
Minimum required 6 years of which a minimum of 2 years must be in a project management environment and supervisory level – experience in plant process design & Installation, troubleshooting, commissioning and operation preferably from the chemical, mineral processing, energy or other related industries

Pre- Appointment Training:
HAZOP, Supervisory development, PMP, ISO Training, Registered Engineer.
