Introduction

Graduate Development Program

The Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) was established through the Communications Regulatory Authority Act, 2012 to regulate the communications sector in Botswana, comprising telecommunications, internet and Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs), Radio Communications, Broadcasting, Postal Services and related matters.

The Graduate Development Scheme is a 24 months programme which is part of the BOCRA Training and Development Policy. The objective of the programme is to source and develop on a need basis entry level talent in the various regulatory areas.

The Authority therefore seeks to recruit recently graduated citizens (i.e. currently first degree unemployed young graduates) in any of the following disciplines;

•Telecommunications Engineering x2
•Information Technology x1
•Law x1
•Economics x 1

Specification

Graduate Trainee applicants with a degree in Economics, Law, Information Technology and Telecommunications Engineering having obtained at least a Second Class Upper Division pass from a University are required and in addition

Law Degree applicants must be admitted to practice with the High Court of Botswana and have completed their pupilage
Engineering Applicants must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board
Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

•A Bachelor’s degree in Law/Telecommunication Engineering/Economics/Information Technology
•At least a Second Class, Upper Division (Please attach a transcript with your application).

FURTHER REQUIREMENTS – LAW AND ENGINEERING APPLICANTS

•Completed Pupilage (Law)
•Registered as an attorney with the Courts of Botswana (Law)
•Registered with Engineers Registration Board (Engineering)
