Level 1 Desktop Support Engineer
IT-IQ Botswana is looking for Level 1 Field Support Engineers. This role is responsible for resolving support requests as well as meeting customer satisfaction and continuous service delivery demands. IT Support staff work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment which provides services over the phone, through e-mail, phone, and in person.

Key Outputs:
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level
- Install and upgrade software
- Install hardware
- Implement file backups and configure system and applications.
- Resolve incidents with printers, copiers and scanners
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Conduct problem solving
- Assist and provide support on WAN/LAN, and other technology as requested, including performing scheduled network tasks, updating anti-virus definition files, monitoring network servers, and providing internet and intranet user support.
- Provide feedback to client and manager.
- Timely call logging and ticket close out.
- Produce statistics and management reports.
- Exhibit a flexible approach to working on a rota basis and provide necessary cover where needed.
- To create, maintain and publish relevant support documentation in order to assist clients
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues/customers at all levels in the organisation
- Take ownership of user problems and follow up the status of problem on behalf of the user and communicate progress in a timely manner.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma in IT
Preferred Experience and Knowledge
- The preferred candidate should have at least 2-3 years work experience in an IT Support Role and a Certification in ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+ and/or N+.
Skills/Personal Requirements
- Excellent organisational skills. Good attention to detail and ability to take initiative.
- Strong self-management skills. Ability to prioritise, manage and perform under pressure to meet SLA’s.
