The Botswana Retired Nurses Society (BORNUS) is a local non-governmental organization with a countrywide membership of retired nurses segmented into regional branches. The organisation was set up in 1999 and officially registered in 2003 with the Registrar of Societies. BORNUS exists to inspire hope and bestow health through transformative education, care and support services.

Position: Monitoring & Evaluation Officer
Report: Directly to Programs Manager

Main Purpose:
The incumbent will be responsible for data collection, analysis, and tracking project performance as well reporting for several projects. He/she will also ensure quality implementation throughout the project cycle.

Roles and Responsibilities

Roles and responsibilities include and are not only limited to the following:

• Participate in project planning process
• Design the monitoring and evaluation tools and forms for the project
• Oversee monitoring and evaluation data collection activities

• Monitor the Performance Management Plans (PMP) for the project and provide key information to management for planning/decision making
• Facilitate utilization of data for decision making and documentation of best practices/lessons learnt
• Generate reports in compliance with the organizations and donor procedures and agreements in the award
• Ensure data quality through conducting periodic DQA/RDQA and reporting
• Take part in resource mobilization through participation in proposal development with other program staff.

Qualification and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics or related courses is desired
• M&E professional training will be an added advantage
• At least 2 years relevant experience in specific M&E related work experience in the health sector and/or NGO environment.

• Ability to analyze and utilize program development gaps to designing project
• Excellent command of computers and statistical software, especially experience with MS Access, Excel, SPSS or STATA.
• Strong IT, analytical skills and attention to details
• Excellent report writing skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English skills are required
• Excellent presentation skills

• Good communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with different people
• Be able to work outside normal working hours
