Senior Contracts Administrator

Site/Office based role to manage and deliver Contract Administration and Quantity Surveying services to meet client and business objectives. The incumbent should have the relevant experience in the mining sector in Botswana or other Southern African counties and be able to demonstrate their management capabilities gained with previous employers.
  • Prepare commercial information for contract and purchase approval documents
  • Assist in the payment process of contracts and purchase orders
  • Preparation of tender documentation and adjudication of tenders
  • Develop and maintain commercial registers
  • Develop and maintain financial and contractual data
  • Insert data and maintain contracts module as per clients document control system
  • Assist with the assembly and compilation of contracts (NEC, FIDIC, Employer Bespoke)
  • Provide contracts assurance and management for the employer / client
  • Ensure that tender and contract documentation is prepared in a way that minimises risks

 

  • BSc degree in construction or engineering related disciplines
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
  • Proven experience of an EPCM project environment
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of modern contracting strategies for major projects including forms of contract, payment terms, incentive/penalty arrangements, innovative commercial models.
  • Strong experience and skills in handling contractor, consultant progress claims, variation claims and other issues that arise during typical design, procurement and construction contracts
  • Highly self-motivated, disciplined and have the ability to work efficiently
  • Proven communication and presentation skills

 

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong procurement and project controls experience
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of modern contracting strategies for major projects including forms of contract, payment terms, incentive/penalty arrangements, innovative commercial models and securisation of performance
  • Strong experience and skills in handing contractor consultant progress claims, variation claims and other issues that arise during typical design, procurement and construction contracts
  • Strong communication and contractual letter writing skills
