Registered Nurse – Sidilega Private Hospital

Sidilega Private Hospital is a premium Multi-Specialty Tertiary Hospital located in Block 7, Gaborone.  It is expected to be completed at the end of 2018. The Hospital aim is to attract local patients and those from the rest of the SADC region and beyond for health care services.

Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the Unit Manager, the  successful candidates will be responsible to promotes and restores patient’s health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisplinary team members, providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families, supervising assigned team members etc.

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:-

1. Identifies patient care requirement by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients.
2. Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards.

• Delivers care that is respectful and culturally sensitive, that places the client at the center of care, and preserves and promotes client’s autonomy, dignity, rights and respect for their beliefs.

1. Prepared for and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
2. Adheres to infection prevention and control protocols in the provision of nursing care.
3. Contributes to practice environments that promote safe, effective and ethical nursing care and enhance client wellbeing.

• Demonstrates professional judgement and accountability when assigning or delegating nursing care.
• Advocate for both clients and nursing profession.

1. Provides health education to clients relevant to their health needs.
2. Practice legally and ethically and meet professional responsibilities to themselves, clients and their profession.
3. Provide effective cost management by; managing all stock used and control and manage staff hours in accordance with company policies and protocols.

• Effective Relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborates with all members of the multi-disciplinary health care team to ensure effective and efficient patient care.
• Build and maintain productive relationship with doctors by agreeing on professional code of conduct, driving and monitoring effective communication regarding positive patient outcome.

1. Use the principles enshrined in Botho, including those of mutual respect and courtesy when communicating with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in nursing with Nephrology/ Oncology nursing.

Current registration with nursing and midwifery council of Botswana.

Experience

Five (5) years’ nursing experience preferably in a Private Hospital/Dialysis /Oncology Centres.
