ASSISTANT SHEQ MANAGER – UNITRANS BOTSWANA

The incubent is expected to assist in coordinating and implementing all policies and matters relating to quality, occupational health and safety in the company in accordance with national/ international legislation and best practice.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS INCLUDE ASSISTING IN:

• Implementing the Company SHEQ system
• Performing SHEQ audits to ensure compliance audits
• Continously alerting management to deviations from set standards
• Facilitating the work of external safety auditors and following up on recommendations and audits quiries raised to implement corrective action
• Creating awareness and providing advice on SHEQ to all units and management in the Depot
• Monitoring incidents and carrying out accident investigations
• Compiling monthly SHEQ reports and including accident statistics and trends
• Providing support and training to other employees on safety matters
• Continuously seeking best practices and new initiatives to benefit the business
• Undertaking route surveys and site visits to identify potential hazards and proffering possible solutions
• Acting as liaison between the company and regulatory bodies, including BOBS, BOTA and others.
