MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance – Diamond Supply Operations, the Manager, Operational Finance – African Region acts as the finance business partner for the Botswana and Mauritius manufacturing facilities (the job therefore involves some level of travel), overseeing all aspects of finance analysis and decision support, This includes annual planning, monthly forecasting, and ongoing analysis and reporting.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Corporate Performance Review

Guide and support the business in establishing metrics that increase the insight that is obtained from day to day production activity and to report on the financial health of the operations to measure and report on the corporate performance against set plans and expectations,
Produce monthly and forward looking forecast and analysis ensuring the business is able to understand the financial performance resulting from day to day operations as well as future outlook based on metrics and agreed targets for income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.
Drive cost optimization / reduction initiatives
Work closely with the Accounting and Reporting Manager – Africa region
Inventory and goods handling

Maintain oversight of inventory
Establish and maintain a good working relationship with the local Diamond Office, Ministry, outside auditors in view of ensuring continued business flow.
Review end of day physical inventory count for timely identification of any differences. Review results of daily high value count and ensure timely reporting
Manage the import and export of all the factory goods in accordance to the Diamond Cutting Act, the Precious and Semi-Precious Act and the Kimberly Process.
Ensure inventory receipts and shipments are processed in accordance with agreed procedures and report on discrepancies aiming to ensure best practices are applied at all times.
Manage effective communication to regional IT relating to observations noted in Factory Inventory system.
Finance Support

Provide timely to support their accountabilities; including, Accounting and Reporting Manager – Africa region, NY based Sr. Analyst Inventory, Analyst Capital, etc.
Support local internal and external audits, as required.
Perform monthly absorption analysis for the manufacturing facilities.
Fixed Assets Management

Requirements
Qualifications/Primary Job Requirements

Degree in Accounting plus Professional Accounting Qualification ACCA
Minimum 5 years management experience
Attention to detail
Good understanding of community with strong relationships and connections established.
Strong influence, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, follow-up and creative solution generation skills.
Must be organized, detail oriented, able to work independently and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including projects and visual
General business acumen and analytical skills
English fluency

Preferred Qualifications/Primary Job Requirements:

Financial and manufacturing systems experience and manufacturing accounting experience.
Strong analytical skills
