TEMPORARY FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME INSTRUCTIONAL

DESIGNER/E-LEARNING SPECIALIST

Botswana Open University (BOU) requires suitably qualified and duty conscious persons for the position detailed below:

Key Performance Areas

• Provide eLearning course development skills to users requiring assistance.
• Provide expertise leadership as a team member in the design, development and creation of online courses for the Moodle platform.
• Provide training for academic and other relevant support staff on the appropriate integration of ICTs and Open Educational Resources (OERs) in their courses.
• Ability to use a variety of graphic design softwares to enhance the appearance of online courses.
• Have the ability to use Web design software such as Dream Weaver for the enhancement of both the Institutional website and the eLearning portal [Moodle) site.
• Provide guidance to staff on online tutoring skills
• Provide assistance in any other general ICTs inclined services provided by the Centre.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess the following qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following areas:
  • Instructional Technology; Educational Technology; Instructional Design; Graphic Design, Multimedia. Design and Technology or any other related field.

• Masters or a Higher Degree in any of the above areas will be an added advantage.
• Experience: A minimum of two years relevant work experience in a tertiary institution or equivalent private sector.
• Experience in teaching and or training for online teaching, development of eLearning for tertiary or equivalent environment. Botswana Open University (BOU) offers an attractive salary package commensurate with qualifications and experience
