EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO CEO (HEAD OFFICE) – BPS 33/2/2 Vol.1 (01)
JOB SUMMARY
To oversee and act as a liaison to government and external stakeholders in order to represent, enhance and protect the interest of BotswanaPost in international, regional and local regulatory postal forums. The
incumbent is also responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the CEO on all day-to-day issues. He/she will also be expected to oversee Strategy and Programmes office.
The position directly reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
– A Degree in Law, Business, Strategy or any related field
– A Post Graduate qualification in Strategy, International Law, Policy, Business Management or equivalent is an added advantage
– Exposure to Quality Management Systems, Postal industry specific training or experience is desirable

EXPERIENCE:
– At least five (5) years proven experience in policy management, stakeholder management or regulatory affairs role.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
– Manage stakeholder relationships and communications with key external stakeholders to
maintain professional and healthy relationships
– Participate fully in meetings with relevant Governmental stakeholders and officers, as
appropriate
– Ensure BotswanaPost’s compliance with all statutory and regulatory matters
– Plan, organise and execute specific business unit initiatives and activities delegated by the CEO
in order to assist in various operational and day-to-day matters
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
– Knowledge and experience in international protocols and practice
– Experience and knowledge of the public sector and government policy management
environment in Botswana
– Ability to draw on good networks to build relationships of value to BotswanaPost
– Ability to understand the language of electronic commerce and business models
– Ability to understand and work comfortably within a legal environment and interpret and apply
international, domestic laws, policies, regulations and guidelines
– Achievement and results driven, and an ability to persistently focus on outcomes
– Proven strong influencing and negotiating skills at a senior level
– Ability to manage teams effectively, mentor others and work with a cross section of the
business hierarchy
– Ability to develop and implement Strategy as well as give line of sight on strategic programmes
