Dis-Chem Pharmacies require a Frontline Supervisor for their Botswana store, to support customer service at point of sale to ensure a world class shopping experience. Function as an effective link between management and cashiers. Supervise day-to-day operations of Dis-Chem Cashiers ensuring the smooth running of the till points in accordance with Dis-Chem Policies and Procedures.
Job Description:
- Adhere to Dis-Chem Customer Service policies and procedures.
- Report all customer compliments and complaints to management.
- All customer queries must be followed through in time.
- Ensure that the queues flowing to the point of sale moves continuously.
- Carry out and manage the Dis-Chem 5 star communication principles.
- Give attention to the manner in which customers respond to the cashiers and act accordingly
- Manage the short sand overs at the point of sale, including the floats.
- Ensure that there are no discrepancies at point of sale.
- Perform daily reconciliation of tender types as per Cash Up regulations.
- Authorise line voids, tender ups and price overrides.
- Manage refund and return transactions according to Dis-Chem operating procedures.
- Transact all purchases -receive and processes all payments such as cash, cards, vouchers, coupons and other payments accepted by Dis-Chem
- Ensure cashiers make frequent cash drops as per Dis-Chem standard operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate document control by verifying the following
- Drop registers.
- Document verification.
- Customer documentation.
- Correct handling of the floats as per our standard and operating procedures.
- All other documentation related to till operations
- Monitor and take appropriate action to minimise risk and ensure the safety of cashiers, other staff members and customers.
- Adhere to Dis-Chem cashier security policies and procedures and ensure that all cashiers follow it.
- Ensure that back shopping and returned goods are handled correctly.
- Ensure that all out going stock/items and scripts are scanned.
- Be alert, recognise and report suspicious behaviour to management.
- Correctly follow the cash handling procedure as per Dis-Chem standard operating procedures
- Train and assist new cashiers entering the organisation.
- Manage the Behaviour of cashiers ensuring that it is appropriate for work.
- Maintain and establish work schedules for all subordinates.
- Ensure that your colleagues and customers are not exposed to any risks.
- Housekeeping must be in accordance to Dis-Chem standards. Make sure that your work station is always clean and tidy.
- Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Adhere to the Dis-Chem uniform and personal appearance policy

Essential:
- Cashier operational knowledge and retail operations
- Understanding of basic customer service.

Essential:
- Botswana citizen
- Completed O levels
- A Minimum of 2 years cashier related work experience of which 6 months should be shadowing a cashier supervisor
- Computer literate – MS Office
- Willing and able to work retail hours
Advantageous:
- A certificate in Computer Literacy.
- 3 Years work experience, with 1 year supervisory experience
