Job Title: Boiler Operator

Reporting To: Maintenance Foreman

Purpose of Job: To operate the boiler and avail steam to the plant.

Key Performance Areas:

• Safely operate coal and HFO fired boilers
• Observe pressures to ensure boiler operates within specified plant steam requirements
• Observe boiler and auxiliary equipment to detect malfunctions and report any defects noticed
• Perform tests on boiler feedwater and ensure water treatment plant Is functional at all times
• Maintain log sheets and keep records of operating parameters
• Respond to an emergency situation and be able to correct problems quickly
• Monitor the use of boiler fuels at all limes
• Maintain good housekeeping

Minimum Requirements:

• O’ levels and Certificate in boiler operation

• Attentive and vigilant
• Good communication skills
• Basic numeric skills
• Teamwork
