DIRECTOR – THUSO REHABILITATION CENTRE

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Botswana citizens for the below mentioned positions existing at Thuso Rehabilitation Centre.

Thuso Rehabilitation Centre is a Non-Governmental Organization run by Board of Directors in Maun. The centre offers rehabilitation, stimulation and various skills development programmes to people with disabilities. Further, Thuso Rehabilitation Centre does not have permanent sources of funding and sustains its operations from assistance from donors and well-wishers within and without the country.

ADVERTISEMENT VACANCY: DIRECTOR

Salary Scale: D3 (P222. 348 – P24S, 472 per annum)

Leave:           30 working days per annum.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following;

• Education,
• Social Sciences,
• Humanities,
• Health Sciences

Postgraduate qualifications, experience working with People Living with Disabilities and proven management record will be an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE:

Eight (8) years working experience with at least two (2) years in related field being in leadership and management positions.

Main Purpose of the job:

To drive the strategic direction of the organisation by pursuing its vision and mission and be able to resource mobilise, diligently utilise the available resources (both human and capital) with full transparency

and accountability to the Board of Directors, stakeholders, donors and Led Ministries of Health & Wellness and Basic Education (Department of Special Support Services.

DUTIES:

1. Provide leadership and guidance to the organisation.
2. Facilitate recruitment of staff at the direction of Board of Directors.
3. Day – to- day management of staff,
4. Fundraising and resource mobilization,
5. Coordinates and monitors programs provided by the Centre,
6. 8udget for the centre in line with financial resourcing institutions and financial regulations.
7. Secretariat to Board of Directors sessions/meetings
8. Monitors and accounts for centre expenditures
9. Produces relevant reports on behalf of the board as per the agreement with the different stakeholders.
10. Monitors and accounts for utilisation of centre resources, equipment and facilities.
11. Develops and implements different policies necessary to enhance smooth running of the centre.
12. Produces audit reports annually
