OPERATIONS MANAGER – BOTSWANA

This is a residential position, based In Botswana. The successful candidate will be required to travel to. and provide operational support for the Ausdrilt group operations in other locations.

This role is ideally suited to someone with demonstrated significant experience in all operational, technical and commercial aspects associated within both large-scale open pit and underground operational environments.

This role is responsible for overseeing and providing strong technical and operational support for existing Ausdrill group operations. In addition, you will build relationships and create business development opportunities for the Ausdrill group in Botswana in line with operational and financial objectives.

Your primary responsibilities wilt include:

• Ensure operational practices are effective and deliver strong safety outcomes
• Provide advice and direction to operational units to achieve target safety, production and commercial outcome sin line with operating plans
• Delegate for Operations and Project Managers as required
• Business development
• Participate in business, tender and contract reviews
• Provide asset management, equipment monitoring and reporting support and advice
• Document and provide detailed monthly reporting Including for safety, operational and financial project performance

Role requirements:

To be considered for this role you should possess:

• A strong background in large scale open pit mining operations, preferably with a Restricted or Unrestricted Quarry Manager’s ticket
• Tertiary qualifications in mining, civil or mechanical engineering, geology or a related discipline
• A strong background in the management of mining operations involving the management of a large workforce

• Solid experience In contract mining and project management, including a track record of effective client relationship management
• Strong commercial and analytical skills, including budget and tender model preparation and review
• French language capability is not essential but will be well regarded
