VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The University is looking for a qualified and experienced individual for the below-stated position;

The position is based at BIUST Campus, Palapye. The position is offered on a contract basis of up to 5 years.

DIRECTORATE OF RESEARCH, INNOVATION AND DEVELOPMENT

Main Purpose of the Job

To provide high quality research grant administration services to the BIUST community and key stakeholders and ensure that the University maintains good reputation for effective grant management and administration.

Education

• Degree in Accounting or equivalent.

Experience

• A minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in a computerized accounting environment

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Administer specified external and/or BIUST internal research grant and fellowship schemes.
• Plan, organize and participate in research funding seminars/workshops for specific schemes or projects.
• Create new accounts for research grants, monitor all expenses, verify availability of funds and allowable expenses as dictated by funding agencies
• Provide expert reviews of grant applications to ensure compliance with scheme guidelines. University policies and procedures.
• Manage the post-award administration of research fellowships and grants including liaison with granting agencies.
• Review and check research grants documentation to ensure accuracy before submitting for authorizations and account reconciliations.
