Continental Reinsurance Plc Is a private reinsurance company t hat transacts reinsurance business with insurance companies across Africa. We are looking to fill the following position:

GENERAL MANAGER, TECHNICAL SERVICES

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

• Coordinating and Monitoring the General performance of the company
• Developing the company’s book of business in the regional office’s selected markets
• Formulating the company’s retrocession programme and purchase of appropriate retrocession protection programme and the purchase of appropriate retrocession protection for the for the company’s reinsurance book of business
• Collaborating with the group’s operations in development and continuous review of group underwriting standards
• Ensuring that the group Enterprise Risk Management is effectively implemented in the company
• Marketing and advancing the company’s brand and overall reputation
• Implementing group underwriting philosophy, policies and guidelines
• Ensuring that both company and group strategy decisions are implemented
• Actively participating in the formulating of company strategy and implementation of board decisions

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in Non-life Insurance / Reinsurance underwriting
• Experience in both Non-Life and Life Reinsurance Marketing and underwriting across SADC markets
• A degree in insurance and risk management, plus a professional qualification
• Master of Business Administration
