SENIOR OFFICER SMEs – SADC-DFRC

Main Purpose of this Job

• To assist In the development and management of the SME Programme of the DFRC, and provide SME support to the SADC DFI Network Members

Reporting Lines

Report to the Manager for PPP and SMEs

Key Responsibilities

• In consultation with DFIs. develop and implement the SME Development Programme for the DFRC;
• Assist in providing advisory services to the management of DFIs on their SME programmes to ensure that the planning and operational decisions that the DFIs make are well targeted and based on best practice.
• Assist in initiating and developing SMEs support programmes/ projects at the national and regional levels;
• Design implementation work plans for SME initiated projects, and provide practical support in the implementation of the projects including the engagement of project partners;
• In liaison with Manager PPP & SMEs and Manager Capacity Building develop and provide necessary Institutional strengthening to DFI Network members focusing on Improving DFIs’ skills base and support to SME clients; and
• In consultation with the Manager Finance and Administration, prepare the SME Development budget.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelors Degree in economics, finance or business administration, is a minimum pre-requisite, together with at least 5 years of professional experience as an SME programme officer or similar.
• Written and verbal communication skills, teamwork and interpersonal skills, together with cultural awareness; and be customer orientated.

The successful candidates shall be contracted for a period of four years renewable, and be citizens of the host country. Botswana
