SENIOR AIRCRAFT ENGINEER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Responsible for carrying out on customer aircraft the following: servicing, repair, inspection, modifications, overhauling, defects rectification and any other related duties within the scope of a senior engineer. Carrying out Defects rectification away from base whenever necessary.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

To deliver a quality and timeous service to aircraft under maintenance To troubleshoot and rectify defects without comebacks To complete all relevant documentation before release of aircraft to service To complete timesheets and account for all the time worked To maintain a dean and safe working environment

To make reference and interpret correctly all publications relating to the tasks involved (reference to current maintenance manuals. Airworthiness directives, service bulletins, engineering or other notices from various civil aviation authorities) Supervision of Engineers, Junior engineers and Assistant Engineers working under him/her making sure that they account for their time and maintain a quality service

To make sure that he reads and understands the approved Maintenance Procedures Manual

Adequate personal tools and should be clearly laid out in the tool boxes and able to identify any missing tools at a glance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Has most ratings required by NAM (Cessna 100 and 200 series airframes, Cessna 208B series -a must, continental and Lycoming engines, and PT6A series engines -a must).

Human factors certificates

5 years’ experience post qualification as a licensed engineer.

Minimum 2 years’ experience as an inspector or certifying engineer.
