Lucara Botswana (Pty) Ltd. operates the Karowe Diamond Mine at Letlhakane In the Boteti sub district. The plant was commissioned in April 2012 and has gone on to achieve exceptional performance. It is the source of some truly special diamonds. The plant completed major upgrades that Include introduction of X-Ray Transmission (XRT) technology In diamond recovery. This is adding to the already existing innovative application of autogenous milling in diamond processing. The Company is embarking on projects, which entail enhanced large diamond recovery.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Chief Risk Officer is responsible for leading and directing the Risk, Governance & Assurance function, as a partner to the business, supporting growth aspirations whilst retaining the appropriate risk management and compliance discipline to achieve strategic goals.

Qualifications and Experience:

• BComm or Diploma in Risk Management / Internal Audit or equivalent financial qualification
• Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Practices, Certified Fraud Examiner and/or Certified Ethics Officer qualifications advantageous
• At least 15-20 years post qualification experience spread across internal audit, operational nsk management and fraud risk management, with at least three years as Head of Operational Risk / Audit or equivalent level
• Exposure to business continuity management, occupational health, safety programs and projects advantageous
• Exposure to demanding operational environments, ability to gain insight into the most effective nsk management applications, key points for leverage and influence
• Exposure to Board of Directors by virtue of being a non-executive director and/or contributing to Board activities
