THE BOTSWANA PUBLIC OFFICERS PENSION FUND (“THE FUND”) IS SEEKING FOR QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED PERSONS TO SERVE AS DIRECTORS ON THE BOARD OF ITS FUND ADMINISTRATION COMPANY. THE ROLE ENTAILS OVERSEEING THE MANAGEMENT AND OPERATIONS OF THE FUND ADMINISTRATION COMPANY.

QUALIFICATIONS

The Directors must be professionally qualified in matters related to administration of retirement funds/benefits They must possess a relevant Degree/Diploma/Certificate or industry qualification in at least one of the following disciplines: insurance, law, accounting, actuarial science, economics, finance and investment; offered by any institution of higher learning in Botswana or a similar foreign qualification.

EXPERIENCE

The position holder must have at least five (5) years’ experience as a Director in the financial services industry.

ATTRIBUTES

The following criteria must be met;

Must be over 18 years of age:

• Must be mentally competent and capable of performing the duties required;
• Must be a person who is solvent and whose estate has not been sequestrated as insolvent or otherwise who is a rehabilitated insolvent whether in Botswana or elsewhere;
• Must be a person who has at any time not been convicted of theft, fraud, forger/, uttering a forged document, perjury, any offence involving dishonesty or any offence in connection with the promotion, formation or management of a company and has been sentenced therefore !o serve a term of imprisonment without the option of a fine or to a fine exceeding P100;
• Must be a person who has not been removed from an office of trust on account of misconduct.
• Must not be in a position likely to present a conflict of Interest(s).
• Must be a person of good standing in terms of the NBFIRA “fit and proper’ requirements for controllers, which involves an assessment of good character competence and financial soundness
