The Ministry of Agriculture herein Selibe Phikwe through the Department of Veterinary Services invites suitably qualified Botswana citizens for the positions of Temporary Gatekeepers tenable in the following gates; Foley x1, Motloutse x1, Thakadiwa x1, Ngidi x1, Madiba x1, Magojwe x1, Pelo ya naga x1, Shashe gate x1, Sefophe main gate x2, Bodumatau x1, Letlhakane west x1, Serule main gate x1, Motsotswane x1, Moshakabela x1, Tapalaphala x1.

LEAVE RATE:20 working days per annum

AGE: 18-45yrs

WAGES: P2257.00 per month

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: JC Certificate

CONTRACT DURATION: Assumption of duty 31st March 2020

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
•Enforcement of livestock movement protocol through searching of vehicles and members of the public at designated disease control check point.

DUTIES:
•Ensure that members of the public adhere to the vehicle, foot bath dipping, spraying requirements at all checkpoints.
•Drives livestock away from such checkpoints and disease control cordon fence.
•Register livestock by-products and other substances not allowed entering or leaving the zone as per requirements from movement protocol requirements in the register book.
•Dispose of such products as directed by supervisor.
•Report disease control infrastructure breakages around the checkpoint within 24 hours.
•Undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor to meet the exigencies of the service.
